Katy Perry at the 2009 Grammy Awards
The Look: The beautiful and low-cut neckline of Katy’s dress and the request to leave her hair down for the event lead Michael to the decision nix a necklace and decorate her retro do with long diamond earrings by Jacob & Co. The look was partnered with some Neil Lane bracelets and a ring to add a more vintage look to her eclectic style.
Make it Bridal: "This look would work perfectly for the bride who has a wide variety of taste," says Michael. "If you are looking for something romantic and traditional, but still a little out there, this look would work for you." —Cari Wolfert
Samantha Harris at the 2009 Golden Globe
The Look: Michael knew that Samantha has a "the more the better" attitude towards jewelry, but since she has a small frame he didn’t want the pieces to overwhelm her look. He pulled together styles that would be highlighted by the blue in her dress like a stack of antique-inspired Sapphire bracelets from Stephen Russell, a ring by Mark Schneider and sapphire and diamond platinum earrings by Damiani that were large enough to be seen under her long, wavy hairstyle.
Make it Bridal: "This look would work for a hippie chic bride," says Michael. "The design of the dress and the free flowing look makes it traditional and retro."
Kathleen Robertson at the 2008 Emmy Awards
The Look: To match her pale pink dress, Michael accessorized Kathleen with these beautiful platinum, diamond and morganite earrings by Siegelson. The large size of the jewels paired well with her face and simple updo, while the patterned platinum and diamond Chad Allison cuffs that she also wore on her wrist gave her look a youthful and glamorous feel.
Make it Bridal: "This look is ideal for a young, romantic bride," says Michael. "It’s not too matchy-matchy and it looks piled together in a casual way. Although, if I was doing this as a bridal look I would go with smaller earrings to keep everything in perspective."
Ashlan Gorce at the 2008 Emmy Awards
The Look: The E! News correspondent wore a platinum bib necklace by Siegelson that was paired with a large sapphire cocktail ring by Ashok Sancheti.
Make it Bridal: "This look is great for the bride who wants to look like a fairytale princess," says Michael. "This piece would go great with a gown that is full of tulle and beading because it is so large and important that it will hold its own with any amount of decoration going on in the dress."
Kate Flannery at the 2009 Golden Globes
The Look: Michael loved the retro, 1940’s feel of the Kate’s dress, so he channeled that look to create a romantic feel with her jewelry by pairing her outfit with long platinum and diamond earrings by Erica Courtney.
Make it Bridal: The earrings that Michael chose for Kate are comprised of four different segments that are buildable so you can wear them as long or short as you want, making it a great gift for a groom to give his bride on their wedding day.
Sean Patrick Thomas at the 2008 Emmy Awards
The Look: The actor wanted a sophisticated accessory to match his classic Armani tuxedo. Michael jazzed up Sean's look with a platinum and diamond tie accent by Cliq that helped him stand out on the red carpet.
Make it Bridal: "This would make a perfect and unique gift for brides to get their groom," says Michael. "Plus it is a really great way for the groom to stand out from his best man and ushers. It’s for the type of groom who is young and hip and understands his own personal style."
