Avoid Post-Veil Hair

If you’re planning on removing your veil after the ceremony, make sure your hairstyle will work without it, since restyling your updo can mean missing out on your reception. "When you come in for your trial updo, bring your veil with you," says hairstylist Ruth Roch of Rare NYC Hair Salon, 212-343-9133, rarenyc.com. "I see so many brides who want to take their veil off for the reception, but don’t think of how their hairstyle will look underneath, once the veil comes off." You won’t ruin your hairstyle at all if you fasten your veil underneath your updo, rather than on top of it, as Roch did for this recent bride. Roch recommends bringing along a small bottle of hairspray, a bundle of bobby pins, and a tiny brush to fix any stray pieces of hair that might fall out if the veil is removed.
