Scott Kay

In October, veteran designer Scott Kay formally introduced SKCobalt, a new white, superdurable metal also known as BioBlu 27. Scott developed the alloy, which combines the metals cobalt, chromium, and molybdenum, in collaboration with scientists from Carpenter Technologies, who specialize in creating and experimenting with high-tech alloys. Nearly all of Scott Kay's wedding bands will now be offered in BioBlu27 (in addition to platinum, yellow gold, and palladium), including this hefty, weathered style from the Braid Collection. Your jeweler can elaborate on all the geeky details that make this metal particularly fascinating to grooms; we very much like the prices (from $225).
