Create a strategic seating chart. In taking the time to figure out the best spot for each guest, you'll sidestep any potential pitfalls and maximize the fun. Put your older guests where it's most quiet and there's little traffic, away from the band or DJ and bar, which is where your young, partying crowd should go. Kids are best placed some distance from your VIPs (close family friends, your officiant and the wedding party), with easy access to the exit and restrooms. You and your new husband, as well as your families and anyone giving a toast, should have a clear path to the dance floor.
