Hollywood's latest wedding trend? Ink to accompany their "I dos!"

Tattoos have long been a popular method of publicly declaring your love for your significant other. So much so, that the notion has actually become a bit of a cheesy trope in the tattoo world. But celebrities are taking these permanent displays of affection to the next level by having a meaningful symbol of their relationship inked onto their ring finger, chest, and/or back, to signify their marriage. And these extra-meaningful tattoos look like they're a trend that's here to stay.

Beyoncé famously had a roman numeral IV inked onto her ring finger to commemorate her marriage to Jay Z, while recently, Benji Madden had a sweeping script rendering of "Cameron" marked across his chest. Other celebs like Dax Shepard's bell tattoo (to, unsurprisingly, adorably honor his wife Kristen Bell and their daughters), and Behati Prinsloo, who opted for three dots on her ring finger, are hopping on this body art bandwagon.

And why not? If you're not the traditional sort of bride or groom, a permanent marking as an ode to your loved one is the best way to honor your commitment. It's a true, physical manifestation of the "till death do you part" vow you'll make at your wedding ceremony.

Most celebs wear wedding rings in addition to their tattoos, but having a dedicated marking makes it convenient to leave your bling behind now and again, especially when you're traveling.

PHOTO: Four is a very important number for Beyoncé and Jay Z. They got married on April 4th, both of their birthdays land on the 4th, they even named daughter Blue Ivy after the beloved numeral (IVY = IV =4, get it?!). So we're not surprised that when it came time for Beyoncé and Jay Z to officially become the most powerful couple, she opted a roman numeral IV on her ring finger.
