Celebrities share favorite memories from their wedding day

Monique Lhuillier
Wedding Date: May 20, 1995

"I was a baby!" says the designer, who was just 22 when she married Tom Bugbee, 23, in Los Angeles in 1995. "Looking back, it was really our parents' wedding, because we were both so young." The Lhuillier-Bugbee nuptials had all the flourishes of a traditional Filipino ceremony: an hour-long Catholic service ("that was as much as I could stand—the gown was heavy!"), a choir, a huge bridal party (15 people at the altar, all dressed by Lhuillier), and a frothy sense of occasion (a black-tie reception for 250 at the Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey). "If I were getting married now, I'd do a more relaxed, streamlined look," says Lhuillier of her spectacular cream puff of a dress—a Ron LoVece duchess-satin gown with a drop waist, lace cutouts, and cascading bows. "But that's not who I was then. I wanted a fairy tale."
