What in the world happened to brides.com?

I'm Julie, the editor in chief of brides.com, and, as you may have noticed, I've made a few changes around here. Don't worry; we still have every gorgeous image from all the bridal magazines, and all the latest dresses. I've just tried to make everything easier to find and more fun to read.

I'm also thrilled to announce that brides.com has been granted access to all of the stories from the late, great Domino magazine. It was my favorite magazine, and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to turn its pages into a digital archive for our users. We have a number of Domino stories now, but will be adding more and more in the weeks and months to come, so keep checking back.

The purpose of the new brides.com is equally simple and complex: We are here to help. In fact, we'll make you this promise…

We Promise:

To be your partner in wedding planning, and to take that seriously, but never too seriously.

To always get straight to the point with helpful advice and options in a wide range of prices.

To not end every sentence with an exclamation point or refer to your wedding as "your big day!"

To never imply that every couple wants or should have the same kind of wedding.

To continue to cover all kinds of real weddings, no matter the couple's budget, race, creed, or sexual orientation.

To never treat a groom as a clueless dope. We consider him—and expect him to be—an active participant and a creative collaborator.

To protect you from exposure to bad ideas and tacky advice.

To educate, inspire, and, at the very least, entertain you in good times and bad.

Finally, we promise that you can count on us to anticipate your needs and questions, and address them sensitively and intelligently, so that you can proceed with confidence and enjoy the planning process.

Very truly yours,

Julie Raimondi

and the editors of brides.com
