Size really did matter at the Lazaro show, where mega ball gowns brought big-time drama. Voluminous tulle-and-organza extravaganzas, most with strapless sweetheart bodices, wafted down the runway. The most breathtaking of the bunch were an organza sunflower gown and an accordion-pleated organza confection that seem to swirl in the spotlight. Lazaro's dresses also had serious 3-D detailing, a trend that has taken over bridal design this season. Other high points: a delightful jeweled fairy-tale frock made from sherbet tulle, and a red mikado corset gown that's great for bridesmaids. At the start of the show, Lazaro dedicated the collection to his mother—without a doubt, he did her proud.
