Take note: deceased relatives cannot be members of the wedding

Another filing from the world of weddings: An editor who prefers to remain anonymous reports that she recently opened a wedding program, started reading down the list of wedding party members, and was more than a little surprised to see the bride's deceased father listed next to his (very much alive) wife. It's fine to acknowledge close relatives who have recently passed away ("Our hearts are with Deborah's late father, Omar Cummings, who taught us so much about the importance of family"), but they are not—repeat, NOT—part of the wedding party. —Sally, BRIDES Magazine
