Our staffer's origami wedding, inspired by BRIDES

Courtesy of Kristi Drago-Price

A peek at the clever origami-style accents in the "Homecoming" reception in our November/December issue inspired associate photo editor Kristen to origami-cize her own wedding. Kristen, Jen, and their bridesmaids made over 200 origami stars—by hand. Each one was then hole-punched, strung with ribbon, and used as decorations, slung over chairs or hung on a string between pillars. Kristen says it was a fun project (if a little more time-consuming than she'd bargained on) and very affordable. Our savvy bride purchased 402 sheets from in assorted colors for only $23, and guests were encouraged to take a few home after the wedding. —Jackie, BRIDES Magazine
