NY Bridal Market: Here's to Hue, Jim Hjelm

Ellen Heisler

Colorful dresses are always refreshing—and surprising—to see in a world of white gowns. So the softly shaded styles at the Jim Hjelm show were a particular delight. First up, a parade of blush-toned ball gowns—many decorated with crystal beading and appliques. Champagne-colored charmeuse and Alencon lace A-line frocks followed. The real eye-catchers, however, were the autumn-hued bridesmaids gowns. A pumpkin silk-taffeta strapless number and an emerald chiffon ruffled dress were enchanting—and would be perfect at a fall formal after the wedding. —Terrie, BRIDES Magazine
