Real or rip-off?

One of the complaints we get from real brides is that the minute they open their mouth and say "wedding," the cost of whatever they're in the market or—flowers, a cake—seems to double. We decided to get to the root of the matter, and had an investigator interview scores of wedding professionals across the country, asking if they charged brides a premium. Turns out that it's a complicated question. We go into specifics in our September/October issue, but the bottom line is that a wedding ISN'T a regular party, and a bride ISN'T a regular customer. What do you think? Real or rip-off? —Sally, BRIDES Magazine
