Did you xoxo Serena's peachy keen ring last night on Gossip Girl? We spotted the stunning morganite-and-diamond 14-karat rose gold ring on the Blue Nile website with a price tag of $1,775 (which isn't too bad considering some of Serena's handbags probably cost much more than that).
If you missed the 100th episode, you can read all about it here. Also, check out more stunners in our Rose Gold Engagement Rings and Wedding Bands roundup.

We merely fantasized about snagging some of the Elizabeth Taylor's drool-inducing gems when Christie's auctioned the late star's jewelry collection in December. But Cynthia Rowley was among those who actually bid.
The desinger had her eye on Taylor's diamond wedding bands (above) given to her by husband Richard Burton, which sold to another bidder for more than $1 million. "Let's just say it went for, uh, ten times what I was willing to pay," she told New York Magazine. "One day I'll get something, though. I'll get my history, my memento. I'm a real romantic." —Phillip B. Crook
$1-million price tag or not, would you wear another woman's wedding band?

I stumbled across these amazing engagement ring photos on The Mary Sue and just had to share them with you. Reddit user Homerliwag was planning to propose to his Indiana Jones-loving girlfriend, but didn't want to give her a store-bought ring. Instead, he sketched a few ideas that incorporated Indy's iconic whip and brought the designs to a jeweler in Las Vegas.

While we saw statement necklaces aplenty on the Golden Globes red carpet, none could match the wow factor of Freida Pinto's stunning yellow-diamond bib necklace. The actress paired her dazzling Chopard accessory with a strapless blue Prada gown, accented by simple hair and makeup to let the necklace take the attention.
A sparkly bib necklace like Freida's would add the perfect touch to sophisticated wedding-day looks—simply pair a similar accessory with a strapless gown and a fuss-free hairstyle to mimic the star's style. What do 60 years on the British throne get you? Lots and lots of diamonds. To commemorate this milestone year in her reign, Queen Elizabeth will offer the public access to some of the monarchy's most precious jewelry, namely two-centuries worth of diamonds. The show, called "Diamonds: A Jubilee Celebration," will open at Buckingham Palace in August.
Among the baubles on display will be a 23.6-carat pink diamond set in a flower-shaped brooch (above) made from 200 smaller diamonds. Geologist J.T. Williamson discovered the rare diamond in 1947 and presented it to the Queen in honor of her wedding (above) that same year. Cartier then fashioned the stone into a brooch in 1953. Also on view will be a crown made from 1,187 diamonds for Queen Victoria's official Diamond Jubilee portrait in 1897, as well as Victoria's coronation necklace and earrings.
Luckily, that other diamond-loving Liz already had her big jewelry moment in 2011, making 2012 truly Queen Elizabeth's year to shine. —Phillip B. Crook

Elizabeth Taylor's legendary jewelry collection sold at auction yesterday for $115 million—more than double the estimated value of the movie star's treasures. And true to her legacy, part of the proceeds from the sale will benefit The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Topping the list of 80 pieces auctioned by Christie's was a necklace featuring the 16th-century "La Peregrina" pearl, which fetched $11.6 million and set the record for the highest amount paid for a pearl. Taylor's 33.19-carat diamond ring (a present from Richard Burton) collected $8.8 million, while her famed tiara (a gift from Mike Todd) sold for $4.2 million. Glittery accessories always pop up in stores around the holidays, but this season, we're seeing sparkles even on the runway. Designer Elie Saab debuted several bedazzled gowns in his latest collection and celebs like Taylor Swift have embraced the look on the red carpet. But if head-to-toe shimmer is a little too much for your taste, then simply opt for a sparkly accessory or two. A glittery clutch, pair of heels, or jewelry piece will instantly liven up your LBD—the look would be perfect for, say, a tree-trimming party or even a winter wedding. Here are a few of my favorite sparkly accessories, all of which can be paired with your favorite cocktail dress or even wedding gown. —Rosie Purdy

Starting Saturday, Elizabeth Taylor's landmark collection of jewelry will make its final appearance as a group before the pieces are scattered at auction December 13-16. Thousands of people will stream through Christie's Rockefeller Center gallery in Manhattan to admire Taylor's infamous vault of gems in a timed-ticketed exhibition, $30.
Among the notable baubles will be the 33.19 carat diamond gifted to the movie star in 1968 by then-husband Richard Burton, a standout piece expected to fetch between $2.5 million and $3.5 million. Also up for sale are Taylor's 16th century "La Peregrina" pearl—previously worn by various queens of Europe—and at least one of her seven wedding dresses, among other haute couture garments and a smattering of shoes and handbags. In total, the auction is estimated to garner more than $50 million. —Phillip B. Crook
The holidays are fast approaching and what better way to ring in engagement season (no pun intended) than with Vera Wang's new LOVE collection for Zales? Each band in the 40-piece collection features a signature blue sapphire, so you never need to worry about having something blue on your wedding day. "It's just another very special touch," Wang said.
We sat down with the fashion-cum-jewelry designer to chat about the collaboration and get tips on popping the big question (hint: you might want to forward this to your honey). —Stephanie Davila
