Another political staffer and reality star is engaged! On the heels of Democratic National Convention staffers' adorable engagement on Sunday, looks like the Republicans couldn't pass up their chance to bask in the engagement-glow spotlight. Former Apprentice star and Donald Trump campaign staffer Omarosa Manigault got engaged to her boyfriend, Florida pastor Dr. John Allen Newman.
Manigault, who was promoted to Director of African-American Outreach for Donald Trump's presidential campaign just last week, got engaged this weekend in front of Newman's parishoners in Jacksonville, Florida. The reality star and her hubs-to-be have been dating for less than a year after meeting at Howard University, according to TMZ. Manigault, who is a pastor at Weller Street Baptist Church in Los Angeles, teaches an executive business course at the university.
And as any newly-engaged lady would do, she flashed her massive engagement ring (which appears to be a large diamond center stone with a thick silver-toned band) in an Instagram photo on July 25 while sporting a freshly-polished nude manicure. In the photo, the bride-to-be wore a embroidered peach dress with a tulle skirt underlay, and her hair in a loose blowout (channeling soon-to-be bridal shower vibes, no?). Either way, the celebrations are definitely in full effect.
Previously, the reality star was married to Aaron Stallworth, but the couple divorced in 2005, according to Us Weekly. In 2010, the reality star began dating Michael Clarke Duncan, most famous for his role in The Green Mile — who tragically passed away from a heart attack in 2012. Four years (...or should we say a presidential term) later, the reality star is engaged and walking down the aisle with her new beau.
Since the reality show alum is busy on the campaign trail, we're sure that wedding planning will fall to the wayside — at least until November! Congrats, you two. See below for pics of the happy couple (and her stunning bling).
