Paris France Honeymoon

1. Paris
Why is the City of Lights our number one most romantic city in the world? If you can't answer that question, book a trip to Paris immediately. Spend your days visiting world-renowned museums like the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay, strolling the serene banks of the Seine River, or having a picnic lunch in verdant Tuileries Garden, and we guarantee you and your husband will fall in love all over again.

Venice Italy Honeymoon

2. Venice
The Italians know a thing or two about romance—and it's easy to see why when you're gliding through the Venetian canals by gondola, sipping Bellinis at the famed Belmond Hotel Cipriani, or watching the sun rise over centuries-old buildings at Piazza San Marco. After days perusing the main city (burning off that pasta lunch!), indulge further at the newly opened JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, a stunning hotel on its own 40-acre private island in the Venetian Lagoon•with numerous gardens and pools, a cooking school, wine academy, and restaurants by Michelin-starred chef.

Florence Italy Honeymoon

3. Florence
There's no place better to experience la dolce vita than Florence, the Tuscan capital and birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Fill your days with cultural high notes, taking in prominent art works like Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" at the Uffizi Gallery and Michelangelo's "David" at the Galleria dell'Accademia. Afterward, climb the (many) steps to the top of the Duomo for breathtaking views of the red-roofed city.

Rome Italy Honeymoon

4. Rome
It's hard to summarize a city like Rome, which is equal parts ancient and modern. From sites like the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps to Vatican City's St. Peter's Basilica and Sistine Chapel, you'll want at least a week to experience all that the Italian capital has to offer. And once that week is over, we guarantee you'll want to return on your one-year anniversary.

Cape Town Honeymoon

5. Cape Town
This bustling port at the southern tip of Africa has become a must-see at the beginning or end of any safari trip. The city—flanked by the wow-that's-really-tall Table Mountain (take the cable car up to the top) and facing the Atlantic and Indian Oceans—is a natural marvel of both land and sea. Spend your days shopping for local wares at the Watershed, sampling fresh fish at restaurants along the buzzy Victoria and Albert Waterfront, and having high tea at the stunning colonial-style Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel (where you'll maybe spot a celeb or two).

Prague Honeymoon

6. Prague
Located in the heart of Bohemia, it's not surprising that Prague is the go-to destination for honeymooners in search of gorgeous art and architecture. The city is filled with hotels in converted buildings—like the Mandarin Oriental, Prague, a former 14th-century monastery—for an experience that's both luxurious and historically relevant. As far as activities, check out the city's famous Prague Castle (fair warning, it's a steep hike to the castle's location perched above the city!), contemporary art galleries, and iconic beer halls. Note: The Czech Republic has the world's highest per capita beer consumption so you know the brews are good.

Barcelona Honeymoon

7. Barcelona
Barcelona is a city with it all—gorgeous beaches, artsy neighborhoods, storied architecture, amazing shopping, and more. Post up at the new Cotton House Hotel, a Marriott Autograph Collection property near the Gothic Quarter. From there, it's an easy jaunt to the city's can't-miss spots, like the Museu Picasso, the Gaudi-designed La Sagrada Familia, the Olympic Park at Monjuic, and the beaches of Barceloneta. And obviously, you have to taste the city's famous seafood and sangria.

Buenos Aires Honeymoon

8. Buenos Aires
When in Buenos Aires, the obvious place to stay is Alvear Palace Hotel, a sophisticated city hotel in Recoleta that's adored by A-listers from around the world. Start your stay with a romantic stroll through Padeo del Rosedal, the city's quaint rose garden, and end with sexy tango lessons at Confiteria Ideal, a salon housed in a 1912 mansion in Microcentro.

Quebec City Honeymoon

9. Quebec City
Québec City is the perfect spot for a quick trip outside the continental U.S. Honeymooners love the European feel of the French-speaking city, especially while walking through the Place Royale (a charming Medieval square), Domaine de Maizerets (a 66-acre urban park), and Aquarium du Québec (a 40-acre indoor-outdoor aquarium). After all that adventure, rest your head at Auberge Saint-Antoine, a modern boutique hotel with an 18th-centrury façade.

Charleston South Carolina Honeymoon

10. Charleston, South Carolina
If you're looking for a sweet escape south of the Mason-Dixon, look no further than Charleston. Stay in the heart of downtown at Zero George, a boutique hotel with a cooking school, that's a short walk from Rainbow Row, a snap-worthy line of historic homes in•you guessed it•a rainbow of colors. While in the area, hit up super stylish boutiques (we love Mac & Murphy for paper products and Candy Shop Vintage for jewels) and Candlefish Library for a weekend candle-making class that's BYOB. Extend your stay with a day trip outside the city center to quaint Folly Beach and Boone Hall Plantation for a scenic end to your honeymoon adventure.
