We were so excited when we learned that our favorite Homeland star, Rupert Friend (a.k.a. Peter Quinn), was planning to tie the knot with his girlfriend Aimee Mullins. Friend popped the question to the blonde beauty almost two years ago and since then we've been wondering about the big day details of the rather private pair. Would the actor's Showtime costars make the guest list? Have the couple chosen a wedding date yet? As it turns out, they had. And it was entire month ago! Friends and Mullians are officially married, having tied the knot in a sweet, low-key wedding on May 1.

The newlyweds broke the news that they hopped on the secret celebrity weddings bandwagon via Instagram with a series of sweet snapshots (see below), celebrating what is apparently their one month anniversary. Friend and Mullins wed with just an officiant and a single witness there for the "I do's," which took place in a beautiful green field on May 1. A springtime rain shower sent the little wedding party seeking shelter in a nearby shed — and lead to the most romantic rainy day wedding photos we've seen in awhile!

For the big day, the bride donned an ivory tea-length dress by Olivier Theyskens with a high collar and floral detailing. She paired the frock with a lace blusher veil and had intended to complete the look with a bouquet from her "favorite corner flower stand," but forgot to bring it the actual nupitals — oops! "Celebrating one beautiful month of being married to my best Friend!" Mullins captioned her wedding photos on Instagram. "Our rainy day wedding in a magical Hobbit-y compost shed...vintage silk and muddy booties, a bespoke suit for Rupert with a vibrant blue-purple lining, and Champagne all around."

The Homeland star returned the sentiment writing on social media, "Today is the one-month anniversary of being happily married to @AimeeMullins! #ilovemywife"

As far as rainy day weddings go, this one sounds simply magical! (We just wish we had found out about it sooner!)

Bliss. Officially.
