We already knew that Bachelor star Ben Higgins' future holds a (hopefully televised) wedding to his onscreen sweetheart Lauren Bushnell, but who knew that it also might include a seat in the House of Representatives? Yes, that's right, Higgins has plans to go from reality TV star to real-life politician. Couldn't you totally seeing Bushnell pulling off a Jackie Kennedy pillbox hat?

Bushnell may have won Higgins' heart on season 20 of the ABC staple, but now The Bachelor is looking to win a seat in Colorado's House of Representatives. Since riding off into the post-finale sunset, the engaged duo has been living together in Denver, planning a wedding, and, apparently, Higgins' political bid. The Colorado Independent reports that Higgins is "seriously considering a run" for a seat in House District 4 of Colorado's House of Representatives. The heartthrob is so serious in fact, that he's already launched a website to drum up support.

Higgins isn't the only one with his eye on a seat. The Republicans of the district have already nominated Willie Pinkston to run, but get this... Pinkston is prepared to step aside for the The Bachelor star. "I'd be happy to," the politician told the newspaper. "He's got name recognition. That's for sure." We know we'd pause if we spotted 'Ben Higgins' on an election ballot. (We always did when he appeared on our TV screens, anyway!)

So what does the man in question have to say? "Whatever lies ahead, love, grace, and hope are ideals that guide my life. I will take them with me into my next adventure," Higgins told The Colorado Independent. "Lauren and I aren't sure yet what that will be, but in terms of representing House District 4, Willie Pinkston is an amazing person and any decision I make regarding entering the race will be based on what is best for Willie, his family, and for Lauren and me."

Planning a wedding and policy can't be easy, but apparently Higgins already has some help. Colorado conservative Jon Caldara is reportedly advising him on his potential campaign. "The bargain is that if I help him with policy, he helps me with dating advice," Caldara said. Who wouldn't take the man up on that?
