We may have just celebrated the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's fifth anniversary with a series of uber-romantic Royal Wedding throwbacks, but we could never get sick of the royal family — especially its youngest member, Princess Charlotte. So we really couldn't have felt any luckier when we heard the news that Kensington Palace just released four never-before-seen photos of the little princess, just in time for her very first birthday. It may be the Princesses' big day, but we're considering this a special gift of our very own!
It's hard to believe that tomorrow, May 2, will mark a year since Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their daughter, Princess Charlotte into the world, resulting in a total media frenzy. Dubbed Charlotte Diana Elizabeth and formally known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, the little one's name pays homage to both her paternal grandmother, the late Princess Diana, and great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. She may be a little princess, but she's the queen of cuteness in our eyes! Don't believe us? Then check out these brand new snapshots and just try not to coo over those chubby cheeks!
Taken by her doting mom, the Duchess of Cambridge herself, these four new photographs of Princess Charlotte are just too darn sweet. "The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments and hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do," Kensington Palace said in a statement. Snapped at the royal family's Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall, the photos show the always-fashionable tiny tot playing in too-cute pink and blue outfits by Amaia, according to People, a children's clothing line (soon to be sold-out in 3... 2... 1...). But our favorite has to be the one in which Princess Charlotte is seen walking for the first time, with the aid of an adorable cart of blocks.
According to a palace source, Princess Charlotte's birthday will spent at home tomorrow with a quiet family celebration. What that means exactly, we're not sure. But we've all seen the Royal Wedding, so we can only imagine what a royal first birthday party would entail!
