As you're crossing things off your wedding to-do list and plotting out every dollar you have in your wedding budget — making sure you can afford this party of your dreams without blowing everything in your savings account, you might find yourself wondering what you should spend above and beyond on and what you don't really don't need. If you're wondering what to splurge on when it comes to your reception, here are six recommendations.
1. Late Night Snacks
You probably spent quite the pretty penny catering the food for the wedding and making sure everyone's stomachs are stuffed with delicious options from cocktail hour and the sit-down dinner. But the truth is, you can never have enough food at your wedding. Late night snacks, usually finger foods or dessert bars, are a great end of the night treat for your guests who are looking for a late-night pick-me-up.
2. Lighting Up the Room
A well-lit room is worth every dollar. If your room is too dark, it will give off a gloomy vibe. But having good lighting throughout the room will improve photos and also keep guests energized and awake throughout the night.
Investing in a good band or DJ is important. They are the ones who will help get the party started and keep it flowing throughout the night. You'll want the music to be on point and the dance floor to be packed right up until the end of the night.
4. Food Options
The more food options you have, the better. Some of your guests may have restrictions with what they can and can't eat, so adding on gluten free or vegan options is a good idea.
5. Photography and Videos
As the main celebrities at the event, you may find yourself missing key moments or only being able to witness them from one viewpoint. Having a quality photographer or videographer at your wedding will leave you with photos or videos you can cherish for a lifetime.
6. Entertainment for Guests
Whether it's a photo-booth or a DIY craft booth, having side entertainment for guests will keep them up and out of their seats throughout the night.
