During wedding planning, there are so many choices and options that need to be decided — from table linens to floral combinations to beauty options. So, when it comes to honeymoon planning, it may be the last thing on your mind — though often the most memorable. Honeymoon destinations range from total relaxation to ultimate adventure, making it difficult to decide where to go. But what about when you need a combination of relaxation and adventure? When it comes to that combo, look no further than the beautiful Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. Here are 5 must-do activities if traveling to this romantic island for your honeymoon.

1. Helicopter Island Tour
Upon airport arrival, opt for a helicopter ride to your hotel destination and get a 12-minute aerial view of the world-famous Pitons mountains, the jade-green rainforest, and the lush tropical island as a whole. If you're staying at the north end of the island, once you land it's a short ride from the helipad to your resort — which is significantly more convenient than the hour-and-30-minute ride by cab from the southern airport. ($245 per person)

2. Private Beachside Dinner
Enjoy a private beachside dinner for two at the Rendezvous Couples-Only Resort, an all-inclusive beachfront property in the north part of the island. The evening starts with a champagne bar happy hour featuring some of the world's finest bubbly — and a sommelier-led wine tasting while dining with the ocean as your view to follow. Before dinner, you can lounge in the resort's lazy river, a secret alcove for couples housing a shallow area to soak and float — all while sipping piña coladas or dark and stormys. If a social scene is more your thing, the resort's swim-up pool bar is the place to be; you can order a custom tropical drink to your liking or off of Rendezvous' romantic-getaway-inspired menu. ($150 per person for dinner on the beach)

3. Land and Sea Adventure
If a helicopter tour is already checked off your list, then you have two more ways you must see the sights. Explore the land and sea by taking a day to tour St Lucia's most well-known sites by land and sea, stopping for a hike to the Diamond Waterfalls and Botanical Garden as well as St. Lucia's active volcano (which created the Pitons' iconic twin peaks). If skincare and relaxation are more your thing, opt for the Sulphur Springs — the island's self-created mud baths. Once you have enjoyed a traditional lunch of jerk chicken, sweet potato pie, and "aunties peas," spend the afternoon on the boat — stopping to snorkel and swim — before heading back to your hotel. On the way, you'll see where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed as well as the infamous 3-walled hotel where The Bachelor gave out his final rose. There, you'll get a land view of the Pitons, all from the front of your catamaran boat. ($120 per person)

4. Local Cultural Experiences
If enjoying time with the locals is up your alley, then the Castries Market (at the intersection of Jeremy and Peynier Streets) is the place to be. Spend the morning acclimating your tastebuds to local fare, noshing on homegrown fruits and veggies, fish, and other sweet treats local to the island — such as plantains and cacao. Many of the shops sell traditional Caribbean foods including accra (fish cakes), but if souvenirs are more your thing, the Craft Market boasts a variety of beaded jewelry and other handmade tchotchkes.

5. Island Factory Tours
For those wanting a more 'hands-on' experience — sampling offerings indigenous to Saint Lucia — start the day with the Tree to Bar Experience, a local plantation that offers excursions which include picking your own cocoa beans, and thoroughly partaking in the local chocolate creation process from start to finish. For the spirits-lovers, take a trip to one of Saint Lucia's rum distilleries while tasting the island's finest sweet liqueurs. A plethora of rum is created on the island, so it's more than likely you'll be imbibing some during your stay — and will come home with a little extra knowledge (and palate) for the process. ($11 per person, rum distillery tour)
