Wedding hair, do care! Obviously, one of the biggest parts of your bridal beauty puzzle is your hair and how you decide to style it for the big day. Up or down? Sleek and simple or big with lots of volume? Hmm...decisions, decisions! You don't want your 'do to be dated (duh), but you also don't want to play it too safe in the mane department. Fortunately, some of our favorite looks for this year are classics with an updated twist. From whimsical waves to edgy, sleek, and pulled off the face, here are 4 bridal beauty fads that are trending right now. Which one suits you?

Whimsical Waves

This year, it's all about embracing natural texture. In fact, according to Matrix StyleLink Celebrity Stylist Nick Stenson, we're currently on the cusp of a natural hair movement. "This season soft waves and messy curls are being complemented with romantic pieces such as floating florals and jeweled headpieces." The key to wearing your hair natural on your wedding day is to style it in a way that's still romantic, he says. For example, whimsical waves (like those pictured above) and carefree bohemian-inspired 'dos are very popular for outdoor weddings, notes GLAMSQUAD Creative Director Giovanni Vaccaro.

Minimal Updos

The return of the 90s minimal trend has even extended itself to hair! As seasoned stylist Lana Grand points out, this formal updo continues the current trend of soft, minimal styling that makes facial features a focal point. "Pinning hair into a loose, voluminous chignon gives the style a sophisticated and timeless feel, while keeping the volume down and the chignon low on the neckline lends it a modern vibe." Whether you have thick or thin locks, it's easy to achieve this black tie worthy bridal look.

Edgy Sleek Styles

This style is perfect for the bride with a bit of an edgy side. As we saw on the runways at Roberto Cavalli, Max Mara, Givenchy, and Fendi, hair this season should be sleek, glossy, pulled off the face, and minimally styled, tells Grand. "Hard side parts, natural textures, polished and modern styles create ideal looks for city weddings and fashionistas alike."

Romantic Twists & Braids

Braids are back (or still here?) this year and in a big way too. "Designers like Alberta Ferreti, Giles, Temperley, and Chanel incorporated soft feminine updos that infused romantic, flirtatious and ethereal feels to their collections," says Grand. Hair is kept loose with "undone" braids, twists, light volume and soft texture, ensuring things aren't "too polished" yet still look completely put together. The good news is, this style can be made to fit any type of wedding (and bride for that matter), be it a casual outdoor event or a more formal ballroom black tie affair.
