There's something so sweet about surprising your spouse-to-be with a gift on your wedding day, whether it's a luxe addition to their wedding-day attire (hello, watches and diamonds!) or a memento that's sweet and personal. But if you're not seeing one another the morning of the wedding, how do you give your significant other the gift? Our experts have a few tips on how to exchange gifts on your wedding day.
When it comes to exchanging gifts on your wedding day, you've got a few great options for people who can deliver the gifts without compromising your decision not to see one another the morning of your wedding.
The most popular choice is having your best man or maid of honor deliver the gifts. They know you both well, so you might be a little more comfortable getting emotional in front of them! The downside, however, is where to fit this in your timeline. After all, you don't want your maid of honor to have to leave in the middle of hair and makeup, or have the best man show up in his sweats because he hasn't put on his tux yet.
Another option is to have your wedding planner do the exchange, instead. He or she can go back and forth between your rooms to get everything where it needs to go — just make sure they're not needed in the ballroom!
Our favorite option, though, is to have your photographer play a role in the gift swap. They'll be heading from your room to wherever the guys are getting ready to take shots of the groom and his groomsmen, which means that your guy will be in his wedding-day attire and there will be a photographer on-hand to capture the moment. Then your photographer can bring his gift for you back to your room — before your makeup artist has left, just in case you tear up!
