BRIDES Southern California: Where LA Grooms Can Get Groomed for the Big Day

California, Grooms, Local

Every knows that a bride takes great pride in her beauty regimen leading up to the big day. Grooms, however, are often overlooked when it comes to their grooming and primping needs for the big day. But, just like the bride, the groom deserves to look polished and the best version of himself when he says "I do," which is why we've compiled a groom's guide to the five best grooming spots in Los Angeles. From straight razor shaves to aromatherapy manicures and pedicures, these male-focused services will ensure LA grooms look and feel their best wait for their bride to come down the aisle.

The Art of Shaving
For a luxurious shave, grooms should head to The Art of Shaving and treat themselves to the signature Royal Shave ($55) before the big day. The 45-minute straight razor shave utilizes a mix of products to deliver the smoothest, cleanest shave. Think pre-shave oils, hot towels, moisturizing after-shave mask, hydrating toner, and lavender essential oils to ease any wedding day jitters.

Blind Barber
Before walking down the aisle, a visit to the Blind Barber is totally necessary. This isn't your typical barbershop. The Culver City shop is a cool space outfitted in masculine, retro decor where guys can get a handsome haircut and shave — and then hang out in the shop's speakeasy-style lounge and enjoy a little pre-wedding day me-time. The spot offers cocktails and gourmet cuisine; our favorites are the gin-based Batman with lemon and mint and an organic kale salad or Japanese eggplant tacos.

Hammer & Nails
Unlike its female counterparts, this male-focused Melrose Avenue nail salon makes guys feel right at home with laid-back, man cave-inspired décor. Here, grooms can relax in oversized leather chairs, sip a complimentary beverage, throw on headphones, and watch their favorite show via their personal flat-screen television while getting their nails groomed. We recommend the 80-minute Big Daddy Aromatherapy manicure and pedicure experience ($120), which uses peppermint essential oils to relieve stress and ends with an aromatherapy sugar cane scrub and massage to help grooms feel completely relaxed before the wedding.

Baxter Finley
Exuding an undeniable retro elegance, Baxter Finley truly elevates the barbershop experience with its sophisticated furnishings, talented team of barbers, and excellent service. LA grooms will surely be in good hands at this West Hollywood shop as they prep for the big day with sharp haircuts, straight razor shaves, and beard trims, which are all tailored according to hair and skin type.

John Allan's
Nestled inside Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills, upscale men's grooming club John Allan's is the most luxurious way grooms can prepare for their wedding day. The club's 30-minute signature full-service package covers all the things every groom needs: a scalp massage, a shampoo and conditioning treatment, a hot towel, a haircut, a manicure, and a shoe shine. After their relaxing pampering session, grooms can head to the club's lounge and enjoy a beer while they watch a game on the big screen or play a little pool.
