If you're anything like us you love an elaborate, over-the-top proposal story. So, to give the people what they want we've rounded up several of our favorite (real life) proposal stories from Instagram, told from the bride-to-be's perspective. There aren't any hot air balloon proposals or tales of popping the question underwater or anything, but these fiancés totally hit the nail on the head when it came to making the loves of their lives feel perfectly special on such a monumental day. Keep the tissues close by because this one is going to be a doozy.

Above: "My now fiancé (so fun to write!) proposed to me on March 5, 2016. He planned a surprise trip to Napa Valley, CA and popped the question at a beautiful vineyard. He flew my baby sister out (who happens to be a professional photographer) to photograph the whole thing so that was another surprise in itself. Last but not least, when we arrived at dinner my family (all from Texas) was waiting for me and needless to say, there were a lot of tears!" — Sommer

"It was Christmas Eve and I was up early at 4 a.m. to teach. Corey said he had an errand to run and asked if I wanted to meet for lunch in Central Park. I was so tired, but it was a nice day so I figured why not? By lunchtime, Corey was acting weird and said his stomach hurt. Then he said, "Look who it is!" I looked up to find my sweet friend Jenna. Shocked, I got up to hug her, but she started backing away from me holding her phone up. Confused, I looked back at Corey as he was getting down on one knee. I couldn't believe it! After saying a few foul words I couldn't keep it together anymore. I started crying like a baby. I have been luck enough to know Corey my whole life, and I have been blessed to have called him my partner for the past 9 years. Every day has been wonderful and full of love, and I can't wait for this next chapter in our lives." — Alexandra

"For Valentines Day, Peter said we weren't doing anything special — just going to to brunch. As we walked towards the restaurant, across from us was a guy with a guitar. Peter said 'I'm going to ask him to play a song for us while we wait,' and sure enough, 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran comes on. As he played, Peter asked me to dance with him, and he set his new GoPro up to record us dancing for fun. I'm still oblivious as to what's going on and just go along with it thinking he's trying to be cute on Valentine's Day. All of a sudden, a lady starts taking pictures of us dancing, and I still haven't caught on. Then, over my shoulder, I saw both of our families walking towards us and I knew! Peter got down on one knee, asked me to be his forever, and I said YES! Best Valentine's Day ever!" — Audreana

"Every year, I visit Drew at Spring Training. This year on our anniversary, he drove us to Tonto National Forest. We hiked up a beautiful mountain surrounded by wildlife until we got to a spot overlooking cliffs and a glistening, blue lake. He got down on one knee and talked about our relationship, our love, and the support we give each other. He then asked me to make him the happiest man in the world and marry him! It was unbelievably magical and totally fit our sense of adventure. All I could do was kiss him and nod yes!" — Sheridan

"He's a talented photographer. I've taken it up as hobby. Early Saturday morning, we were headed to take photos of the monuments and as we climbed the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial he handed me a book of photos we had taken together over the past year. I flipped through each page reminiscing as he got his camera out to start taking photos. But to my surprise, I reached the last page and it had our hashtag #MWxDH on it — but with new initials #MWxDW and he got down on one knee. Tears of happiness rolled, and I said YES!" — Dvon Holland
