While not all brides are superstitious, most decide to keep their wedding dress a secret (or only share it with a select few people) before the wedding. After all, it's the one day where all eyes are really on you, and you're wearing a totally stunning gown, so why not get the most out of that big reveal? But what happens when someone, even with the best of intentions, starts sharing that picture of you in The Dress with other people? Here's what our experts have to say.

While having anyone, whether it's your mother-in-law or your bridesmaid, spill the beans about your wedding dress might sound like it could ruin your big moment coming down the aisle, remember a few things. First, that picture of you at the salon is in a sample gown that probably doesn't fit, without your hair and makeup done, and in fluorescent lighting in the middle of a bridal salon. Even the prettiest of salons and biggest of smiles won't compare to when you're walking down the aisle in your dress, with your hair and makeup looking totally flawless, accessorized to the nines, and full of emotion. Not to mention, ceremony settings are WAY prettier than bridal salons!

Now, do a little damage control. Begin by contacting whomever has been sharing the pictures and let them know that you really hoped to keep your dress a surprise. There's a good chance they didn't know it was such a big secret, and that they're as excited about your wedding as you are. Calmly and clearly request that they not show the photos to anyone else. If they sent them out via text or email, have them pass the message on to anyone they shared the pictures with that it's "top secret" from now on.

Once you've done said damage control, focus on the details that you can't see in the pictures: Which veil you'll choose, whether you'll wear studs or drop earrings, and how you'll wear your hair. You looked gorgeous when you tried the dress on the first time, but just wait. You'll be absolutely glowing when you put it on on your wedding day!
