Just 10 short weeks ago we watched The Bachelor Ben Higgins stand outside of the Bachelor mansion and greet his potential future wife. And tonight, we finally got to see which woman is the future Mrs. Higgins. After watching all of the women fall head over heels for the newest Bachelor, we were elated to see favorites Jojo and Lauren B make it to the finale. And now, he's engaged!
We were seriously on pins and needles waiting to see who would get to walk away with that gorgeous emerald cut with a halo setting and side baguettes Neil Lane diamond ring and Ben on her arm. Not going to lie — we couldn't help but fantasize about being the one to receive Ben's heartfelt proposal. Over these 10 weeks, we totally fell in love with him, too!
And after a dramatic and tear-jerking goodbye to Jojo, Ben was ready to proposal to Lauren. Being the amazing gentleman that he is he made sure to call Lauren B's dad and ask for permission first. (Awww!!) We were already melting, but completely lost it when we saw just how excited Ben was to ask Lauren to marry him.
"I came into this honestly feeling unlovable," Ben said to his final rose recipient. "Lauren, I never want to say goodbye to you. I want to wake up every morning and kiss you on the face." Ugh, could he be anymore adorable?! And Lauren, of course crying (we are too..), said YES! Congratulations to these two sweethearts on a tear-jerking proposal and on their future lives together.
This past season has been full of drama and of course, lots of tears. But throughout the craziness, Lauren B and Jojo stood out from day one. Not only are the both stunning (we need their #IWokeUpLikeThis tips from the fantasy suite, like, yesterday) but also, they're the sweet all-American girls that Ben definitely needs. Unfortunately, neither of them was able to stay clear of the drama. (Is that ever possible?!)
You're not alone if you cringed when Leah told Ben that Lauren B. "wasn't who he thought she was," but, luckily for everyone, Ben totally didn't buy it and sent Leah packing. Then there was that totally awkward moment when Jojo's brothers took the over protective thing a little too far. We get being cautious about your sister's boyfriend dating three other women simultaneously, but how could anyone bully Higgins?! He's about as harmless as they come.
Luckily, both girl's were able to make it through the Bachelor's famous obstacles and win Ben's heart. He did say, "I love you" to both of them, after all. Sadly Jojo had to go, but she gave us total Bachelorette vibes anyways.
Now we can finally start obsessing over Lauren B.'s newly engaged glow and upcoming wedding plans. And with summer right around the corner, that means one thing: Bachelor in Paradise! Personally, we cannot wait to see Lace have another chance at love, we hope Olivia joins her too...
