Sure, the game between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers kept us on the edge of our seats and Beyoncé totally slayed her halftime performance, but Lady Gaga won the Super Bowl before it even started with her epic rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." And we're not the only ones who think so! Taylor Kinney is flipping for his fiancée's performance even more than we are.
Gaga's super-supportive husband-to-be couldn't help but gush over her powerful pipes at his TV Guide cover party Monday night. "I'm just proud. I just wanted her to take her time and really just enjoy the moment for what it was," the actor shared with People. "To be on that stage in front of as many people that were watching and to represent not only the song but the country was a pretty big deal," Kinney continued. However, the monumental musical moment seemed to be no sweat for the pop icon!
"She was really excited, she was anxious leading up to it," the Chicago Fire star explained to E! News. "I don't think she realized the scope of it and the magnitude of what that was. She goes, 'This is a big deal, isn't it?' I go, 'Yeah, yeah babe. It's a pretty big deal, you're singing for the country.'" Oh you know, there'll just be a few million people will be watching! Nothing really to worry about...
"I think that she took the bull by the horns. She was relaxed, she was calm and she belted out a pretty amazing rendition," Kinney sweetly said.
After pulling off a performance like that, an extra special Valentine's Day gift should be just around the corner, right? (Jay-Z gifted Beyoncé 10,000 roses before her Super Bowl halftime show, after all!) But unfortunately, it looks like work will be getting in the way of any elaborate Valentine's Day plans for these two. "She'll be at the Grammy's, so she's working," Kinney admitted to E! News. You'd think V-Day would be big between these two, considering Gaga's sweetheart-shaped engagement ring! But not to worry — this to-be-wed twosome have 364 other days in the year — and a wedding date, let's not forget! — for some romance.
