It's every bride's worst nightmare — a rowdy guest that poses the threat of ruining your perfectly planned wedding. When it's a long time friend or family member that's been known to knock one too many back, you can prep your squad to handle the situation, but when that rowdy guest is somebody else's plus one... things can get a little trickier. Imagine you're enjoying your gorgeous wedding reception when you turn around and see your best man's date dirty dancing on the bar. Sounds like a nightmare right? Actresses Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza are about to make this nightmare wedding guest a reality. And they'll totally make you think twice about who gets a plus one and who'll be going stag.
In their new comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates real life BFF's Plaza and Kendrick play an on-screen duo that tricks brothers Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron) into thinking they're nice, quiet girls who would be perfect plus-one's to Mike and Dave's sister's wedding. In the trailer you see Devine and Efron play brothers who are known for turning every family get together into a wild party (raise your hand if this sounds like one of your wedding VIPs). When they find out their sister's getting married, their parents give them very special instructions, to find nice girls who can keep them calm for the wedding. Sounds simple enough right?

Kendrick and Plaza trick the guys into thinking they're the perfect girls in order to score a free trip to Hawaii, but when they get on the island, the debauchery starts. For the chance to be on Efron's arm at a wedding in Hawaii who wouldn't play the part of the perfect wedding date?! The movie doesn't come out until July but the trailer has us totally LOLing.
Plaza is best known for her role as the ultra-sarcastic April Ludgate, alongside Amy Poehler, in the now off-air Parks and Rec, while Kendrick has been making us laugh ever since she starred in Pitch Perfect, the perfect girls-night-in sing-along film. With Workaholic's Devine and Dirty Grandpa's Efron playing their leading men this film is guaranteed to be the perfect summer comedy.
While you obviously don't want any shenanigans at your wedding, it sounds like the ideal film to add to your bridesmaids movie nights! Invite your best gals over for a wedding movie marathon that also includes classics like Wedding Crashers and Bridesmaids. And don't forget the wine and popcorn!
