So he's put a ring on it, you took your #engagementringselfie, and now it's time to kick wedding planning in to high gear. You have an ideal vision of your dream wedding; from the flowers to the decor and choosing your wedding party, you know exactly what you want. But, then there comes the most important piece: the dress. Searching for the one can be a little daunting in a sea of gorgeous bridal options. Can't seem to find the right fashion inspiration to put all the pieces of the puzzle together? Lucky for you we looked to the recent pre-fall 2016 runways for a serious dose of style to get you over the hump. Just because they're off-the-runway doesn't mean they are necessarily complicated or out of your league — and with your engagement party, shower, rehearsal dinner, and the big day you'll need more than a little help. From classic to blush, metallic and long-sleeved, we've got just the right inspiration for every bridal style.

Jason Wu: This barely there nude silk dress is a modern, soft update to an ethereal bridal look.

Altuzarra: For the ultra-fashionable bride who wants to make a splash at the rehearsal dinner or reception after party, Altuzarra's blush dress with large sequins is a modern take on the Great Gatsby look.

J. Mendel: We can always count on J. Mendel for ethereal bridal inspiration. We get serious Goddess-vibes from this pleated blush dress (see Selena Gomez at the Golden Globes in a similar style from the designer).

Metallic Wedding Dress Inspiration

Michael Kors: If the barrage of '90s fashions we're seeing lately is any indication, slip dresses are going to be back with a vengeance. This almost bare slinky sequin number from Michael Kors gives us just the right amount of Cher Horowitz mixed with Cindy Crawford for the stylish and sexy bride.

Elie Saab: New Year's Eve may have come and gone, but metallics and faux-fur are forever. This is an ideal look if you're going for full-on glamour at a black-tie affair.

Chanel: A simple pleated metallic dress takes second stage when using jewelry as a dramatic neckline. Loads of drama for the risk-taking bride.

Long Sleeved Wedding Dress Inspiration

Nina Ricci: To quote Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral, "not a meringue in sight" with this sleek Nina Ricci dress (from former Carven designer Guillaume Henry's first collection for the brand). A light shoulder detailing adds an edge of elegance.

Monique Lhuillier: Bib patterns spice up this otherwise usual white dress from bridal favorite Monique Lhuillier. The long sleeves add an extra touch of sophistication.

Ralph Lauren:
No one does refined sophistication quite like Ralph Lauren. We can just see this long-sleeved gown with a necktie making a splash at a lux black-tie city wedding.

pre fall wedding dress trends

Adam Lippes: Capes are still definitely trending, and this Adam Lippes version with a high-slit is a perfect alternative for the simple, yet sophisticated, bride.

Delpozo: Delpozo's floaty, gauzy creations use floral embroidery for an unexpected hint of color on the back of a zipper or scarcely on the front instead of a full floral pattern. We love the high-low hemline for the modern boho bride.

Prabal Gurung: If tailored is more your thing, this classic suit with a subtle pattern by Prabal Gurung is just the thing for a laid-back wedding.

Marchesa: Zendaya may have pulled the red carpet out from underneath us in the long version of this style (perhaps our favorite show-stopping number from the Golden Globes, the tri-layered draping and silhouette is sure to be a huge trend in dresses. Try its cheekier version in this short layered look from Marchesa's pre-fall collection — after party dress goals.
