It looks like undeniable charm runs in the family! Dallas Buyers Club actor, and all-around Southern hunk, Matthew McConaughey, recently let his parents' adorable engagement story out of the bag, revealing just where the impressive actor got all of his charm. And, to be honest, we're completely obsessed with this adorable tale.
The famous trio of, "Alright, alright, alright," might never have been said without the courage of this Southern star's bold mama! In a recent interview with Garden & Gun, McConaughey dished on how his mother's bold actions led her to walk down the aisle to his father.
"[My parents] met at the University of Kentucky, where my dad played football under Bear Bryant," he added, "Dad and Bear didn't get along, because Bear didn't play him in the Orange Bowl or something like that, so my father transferred to the University of Houston. The summer before he started there, he went back to his mom's house in Morgan City. When he got there, my mom — his girlfriend and not-yet-fiancé — answered the door. She said, 'I'm going to fast-forward this situation,' and handed him an invitation to their wedding. 'You've got twenty-four hours,' she said. 'I'll need a yes or a no."
McConaughey's lucky interviewer, Joe Bargmann, responded to the actor's southern love story with, "That's bold," followed with a classic charming McConaughey response of, "Well, that's my mom."

You would think that the talented actor's life as a pro-football star would already be set-up thanks to his dad's football heritage, but the film screen actor quickly denied the possibility by telling Garden & Gun, "I wasn't fast enough or big enough, and I barely had any peach fuzz going into the ninth grade." After switching his sport focus to golf, the actor admits that even that doesn't get the majority of his attention these days. "I've got three kids now. I have to pick out my hour or so a day to go break a sweat, and I haven't chosen golf."
The former Hollywood bachelor tied the knot to his gorgeous Brazilian model and designer wife, Camila Alves, back in 2012 after proposing with a stunning rose cut diamond sparkler just one year earlier.
The private couple chose the backyard of their Austin, Texas home as the location for the milestone moment, inviting over 100 of their closest friends and family. The party, which went all night long, ended with an epic slumber party in state-of-the-art tents. "It's definitely a campground, but they weren't exactly roughing it," a source told Us Weekly of the unique nuptials at the time. "They have showers, restrooms, and air conditioning. It's very unique, high-end camping."
It looks like everything the McConaugheys do, when it comes to matters of the heart, is above and beyond!
