Let face it: Every single accessory fashion blogger and TV host, Louise Roe, owns is gorgeous — that's just a given. But her newest piece of jewelry takes the (wedding) cake! Roe has just announced her engagement to the Australian television director, Mackenzie Hunkin, and her oval-cut diamond ring is everything you'd expect from the always-chic fashionista.
From the CW makeover reality show Plain Jane to E!'s Fashion Police and red carpet coverage, Roe has been bestowing her fashion know-how on the world for years, both on TV and in her style manual, Front Roe. But it's her bridal style that's got us gasping. Roe broke the news that her hubby-to-be proposed via Instagram (as one does) and her ring is the stuff of fashion blogger dreams.
"Guys, I am over the moon to tell you I'm engaged!" the style expert shared on social media. "My best friend and love of my life Mackenzie asked me to marry him... We couldn't be happier." Meanwhile, we couldn't be happier to catch a glimpse at that oval-cut beauty!
Roe's sparkler is effortlessly chic and vintage-inspired — basically, the crème de la crème when it comes to oval-cut diamonds. Set in a yellow gold band with a pavé double halo, the luxe oval diamond steals the spotlight — and our hearts!
Are oval-cut engagement rings having a major moment? Roe isn't the only celeb with one on her finger, after all. Justin Theroux popped the question to Jennifer Aniston with an oval rock (that cost over $1,000,000 we might add!). Blake Lively's ring from Ryan Reynolds is a light pink, oval-cut stunner. And let's not forgot that Kate Middleton wears Princess Diana's 18-carat oval sapphire ring. And what's more regal than that?
If pre-engaged gals are considering an oval sparkler, let us just add that the longer cut is ultra-finger flattering, as it'll elongate the look of your hand. Plus, this is one cut that offers more bang for your buck. Since oval-cut rings are so long, a smaller carat size will inherently look larger than it actually is. Take a fashion note from Louise — oval-cut rings are totally Front Roe worthy!
