When it comes to one of the hardest parts of wedding planning — winning over your mother-in-law — Lady Gaga can rest easy. On Wednesday, her fiancé, Taylor Kinney, brought his mother, Pamela Heisler, to the 2016 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, and the singer's mother-in-law-to-be was overflowing with joy about the couple's engagement.
When asked about meeting for the first time, Heisler shared that the situation was not exactly the best timing for a mom-meet-my-girlfriend introduction, since it was at a very unfortunate event — a funeral — but she went on to say that Gaga was very sweet. "My mother had passed away," Heisler explained, noting that even during the tragic event, the pop sensation was extremely warm and caring about Heisler's grieving family, Entertainment Tonight reports. "She was the sweetest thing that ever was," she said, "She was a sweetheart. I loved her from the moment I met her."
Gaga's mother-in-law to-be also spilled a few deets about her mother-of-the-bride dress, sharing that it will be less extravagant and "more subdued" than the bride's. Of course, with the usual outfit choices of her future daughter-in-law, we can't imagine that would be too easy to upstage the bride.
It's anything but a "Bad Romance" — Gaga and her beau met on the set while filming her music video for "You and I," according to Bustle. The Chicago Fire actor played her on-screen man candy, and not long after (and many rumors later), the two went public about dating in real life, and the rest is history.
The 34-year-old actor proposed to his 29-year-old girlfriend on Valentine's Day (with an appropriately-timed, heart-shaped sparkly diamond ring!), and the rest is history. We still haven't heard any specifics about their wedding details, but Kinney has mentioned that they don't have "an exact date yet," due to deciding on a destination wedding or an NYC- or LA-based event.
Regardless of when their wedding takes place, as long as Mama Heisler is on board, we know things will be smooth-sailing in the planning department!
