Who should always be the second best-dressed gal at a wedding (after the beautiful bride, of course)? Her mom! Wearing that glow of motherly pride — and not to mention, a fashionable, formal frock — the mother of the bride (and groom!) is always bound to turn a few heads on her child's big day.

But for moms who feel rather lost in a sea of sparkly fabrics and different silhouettes, there's no better place to look to than the red carpet for some major mother-of-the-bride dress inspiration. We scoured this year's Golden Globes red carpet for Hollywood's ageless celebs and were stunned by their wedding-worthy looks. Here, some of our favorite flawless and flattering celebrity looks to inspire your mother-of-the-bride ensemble.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Above)
Leave it to the Veep actress (above) to look positively presidential when it comes to style. Julia Louis-Dreyfus's elegant lace Lanvin gown is a total stunner (and perfect for a formal wedding, might we point out). She may not have taken the Best Actress award, but her ultra-refined red carpet look earned raving reviews from us!

Savannah Guthrie
Today anchor Savannah Guthrie was the picture of ladylike grace in her nude, lace dress. The neutural hue proves to be super flattering and that trendy high-low hemline calls for an elegant garden party soirée (or the red carpet, of course). And the higher neckline is a total crowd pleaser when it comes to modest moms.

Judith Light
Who said mother of the brides were limited to just fancy frocks and skirts? Transparent star Judith Light proved that pantsuits could be chic, feminine, and oh-so-fabulous. Now we know white dresses are a big no-no for moms on the wedding day, but what's the verdict when it comes to pants, brides?

Golden Globes 2016 Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren
Dame Helen Mirren slayed (as per usual) in her Badgley Mischka classic black gown. The mesh detailing is practically a mother-of-the-bride staple, while the V-neck is sultry, without being too sexy. From her berry-hued lipstick to her Harry Winston diamonds, everything about Mirren's look was on point — for both the red carpet and ballroom nuptials.

Golden Globes Maura Tierney

Maura Tierney
Maura Tierney rightfully took home the Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe (and the award for mother-of-the-bride style inspiration, if you ask us!). Her Elizabeth Kennedy gown was both simple and stunning. The natural waist line is ultra-flattering on a range of body types, while the asymmetrical neckline is a subtle, sophisticated detail.

Golden Globes 2016 Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis
Not only did Jamie Lee Curtis stun in a deep blue gown with on-trend floral appliqués, but she posed alongside her daughter (who wore a white dress, no less!). Could you get any more wedding day inspo than that? The long sleeves are perfect for a winter wedding and we wonder if Curtis realized that those flowery appliqué were all over the Fall 2016 bridal runways...

Golden Globes 2016 Viola Davis

Viola Davis
Who's more regal than Viola Davis on the red carpet — or than the mother of the bride at a wedding? Davis' sparkly Marchesa number was a total eye-catcher and it's obvious why. The silver embellishments sprinkled throughout the navy gown popped on the red carpet and those billowy chiffon sleeves are airy, unique, and simply beautiful.

Golden Globes 2016 Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore
With Tom Ford on her arm, you know Julianne Moore's Golden Globes look just had to be a total stunner. Her long sleeved, sparkly midnight blue dress was luxe, lovely, and designed by — who else... — Tom Ford. Mind if we borrow that for a black-tie affair, Ms. Moore?
