That's one way to ring in the New Year! Ryan Phillippe is engaged to his longtime love, Paulina Slagter, having popped the question over the Christmas holiday. (Looks like celebrities partake in engagement season, too!) And it sounds like these two have already been marking their calendars with their epic plans to ring in 2016 together — which we hope includes lots of wedding planning.
The newly engaged couple has already stepped out for their first official appearance as fiancé and fiancé. Slagter, a 24-year-old law student, was recently seen showing off her new engagement sparkler at Seaspice in Miami while dining with her new groom-to-be, People reports. Phillippe, 41, reportedly popped the question to his girlfriend of four years with a bended knee moment over the Christmas period. And these two lovebirds wasted no time in making New Year's party plans by planning to celebrate their new status at the Five Star New Year's Eve event on Watson Island in Miami, headlined by deejay Robin Shulz, according to People.

The Crash actor will be kicking off 2016 by expanding his budding family, which includes 16-year old daughter, Ava, and 12-year old son, Deacon, from his first marriage to his ex-wife, and Academy Award-winning actress, Reese Witherspoon. Phillippe is also dad to 4-year old daughter, Kai, from a previous relationship with former girlfriend, and Pitch Perfect star, Alexis Knapp.
The actor opened up about Slagter on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show back in April, proclaiming that he was "not opposed" to walking down the aisle again. Phillippe continued to gush about his then-girlfriend, "She's awesome. When people see her they have these judgments because she could be a model but she's about to graduate Stanford Law." Phillippe couldn't help but brag about his longtime love by adding, "Also what's great about it — as you get older certain issues become more important to you. I'm very involved in civil rights issues, and so to be with a woman who could actually make an impact in the legal realm — that's a beautiful thing."
Congratulations to these two!
