Of course we are beyond excited to be gathering with our own families for the holidays, but there's one particular big, fat, Greek family that we can't wait to see! The first official movie poster of the much-anticapted sequel to the 2002 rom-com, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, has been released, just in time to give us a holiday sneak peek of the Miller-Portokalos family. Break out the bundt cake, now this is a Christmas treat!
Anyone else got a case of déjà-vu? (Nothing a dab of Windex couldn't clear up, we're sure!) Nia Vardalos, screenwriter and star of both the original and upcoming sequel, shared the image on social media earlier this week, according to Us Weekly. "Guess who's back for the sequel.," Vardalos captioned the pic. "Hint...EVERYONE."
The new poster for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is nearly identical to the original, showing the still in-love Ian and Toula — with the whole Portokalos clan in tow, of course! Only this time, it looks like everyone's favorite big Greek family has gotten a little bigger, making room for newcomer Elena Kampouris who plays Toula and Ian's daughter, Paris.
From the looks of the previously released trailer, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 follows Paris as she begins to stray from the (loving!) clutches of her overbearing family, as Toula's parents discover that due to a decades-old mix-up, they need to renew their vows in another big, fat, Greek wedding.
Here at BRIDES, there's nothing we love more than a good ol' wedding movie, and this poster that shows the whole gang back together has gotten us even more excited for the March 25th-released movie. We're already crossing the days off our calendars until we can shout "Opa!" at the movie screen!
