Is It Okay to "Go Green" with Your Wedding Menu and Only Serve Healthy Options?

Etiquette, Food & Drink

Picking out your wedding menu is no easy task. Especially when you consider your guests' preferences and food allergies, it becomes more than just a simple chicken or steak decision. But for one health-conscious bride, deciding on her wedding fare was quite easy (and quite controversial). Choosing to serve only green juice and vegetables for her sit-down meal (in a story that went viral this week) many of our Facebook followers had a lot to say about this interesting decision, which begs the question: Is it fair to your guests to serve only healthy "green" options at your reception? We asked, you told. Find out what our Facebook followers had to say!

"I can appreciate that the bride and groom live their lives on a diet like this, but there's an element that I think there should be other options for people who may not like rabbit food." — Sarah B.

"Not at my wedding, we are all hearty eaters!" — Lauren H.

"It's about time someone had a nice healthy wedding instead of all that fattening [food] they usually have at weddings! — Brianna C.

"Weddings are that one day you can pig out and not deal guilty over it. She thought only of herself and not her guests." — Alyssa C.

"If you are eating and being nourished what is the problem for one meal?" — Donna P.

"If her and her soon-to-be husband agree to this menu and live by this menu, then I don't see anything wrong with this. I personally think it's great to eat green." — Cheyenne S.

"Definitely not. Green juice before the wedding not during!" — Katie C.

"This isn't a wedding, it's a healthy living convention." — Alex A.
