For any kindergartner, the day when a real, live firefighter comes to school to teach the class about fire safety, is always a ton of fun. (Don't you remember those good old days?) But for the kids of Natalie Moy's kindergarten class, it was extra special for a very romantic reason! FDNY Lt. David Royael made a trip to his girlfriend's classroom for a quick lesson on fire safety — and how to pull off a rather unforgettable proposal!
According to Gothamist, this FDNY firefighter headed to Ms. Moy's classroom the last day before Christmas break to teach fire safety to the kindergarten students. Moy, his girlfriend of two years, thought it was just a quick, educational treat for the kids, but little did she know things were about to really heat up.
After the lesson, Royael asked if anyone wanted to see their teacher dressed up in all of his firefighting gear. And of course the answer was a resounding "yes!" But that wasn't the only affirmative answer this firefighter hoped to hear that day.
When Moy pulled on the thick gloves, completing the outfit, she found the ring box tucked away inside. And with that, Royael dropped to one knee and asked those four magic words. And thus, he received his second enthusiastic "yes!" of the day.
The cheers of total glee from Moy's young students are practically infectious — we can't stop smiling over this red-hot viral video! This is one firefighter who definitely fanned the flames when it comes to the perfect proposal trend, taking over the 'net!
