Reasons to Love a Traditional Wedding Guest Book

Don't write off an old school style guest book just yet, brides! Even if your wedding is anything but conventional, a classic keepsake could be the missing piece you've been looking for. Simple, sophisticated and perhaps more unique of an idea now than its "creative" alternatives, here are four reasons to fall head over heels for a traditional wedding guest book.

1. Your older relatives will totally appreciate it
You can take our word on this one! No one appreciates tradition quite like the older generation, particularly at a modern wedding. Your grandparents, parents and all of their friends will light up upon seeing a classic guest book. And yes, you can bet they'll be the ones filling the pages with sweet notes and kind words for you to read. Consider it the perfect compromise for parents who are seriously itching for you to inject some tradition into your big day.

2. People actually have room to write if they'd like
Unless you wind up with one of those lined guest books that only leaves enough space for people to sign their names, your guests should have plenty of room to write you their well wishes, that is, if they wish to do so. Those that don't want to pen an entire novel and would rather get back to the dance party stat (AKA his friends) won't feel pressured into answering any cutesy questions or thinking up their best marriage advice to give you. They can simply sign their name, jot a quick note and go.

3. It's so easy to store
You can literally stick it on a bookshelf and pull it out to reminisce whenever the mood strikes. Sure it may collect some dust up there, but it's better than trendy autographed art that eventually gets relegated to the garage because it just wasn't your style anymore. For the designed obsessed, it's a timeless choice.

4. It's becoming a rarity
What's unique is relative, and these days it seems like more and more brides are thinking outside the box when it comes to their guest book. However, that also means the traditional guest book is becoming somewhat of a novelty, as its rarely at modern weddings anymore. And who doesn't like a nice "vintage" touch? We know we do!
