When your to-do list has enough checks that it looks like it's practically complete — you've already briefed your bridal party on when and where they need to be — the one task to make sure you have covered is chatting with your father and father-in-law. The guys of the wedding are excited to be your support as you make your way down the aisle but they may need a few final reminders before the big day. Here's a list of things to remind the dads to do.
1. Order Their Tux
Since they might not be fitting and ordering their tux along with the other groomsmen, it's important to give them a little nudge to make sure they order their tux on time — also what style you'd like them to order.
2. How to Walk Down the Aisle
It may seem like a funny thing to do — teaching your father or the father of the groom to walk down the aisle — but it's important to practice with them so they know the pace to walk and where to stand afterward.
3. Their Responsibilities
If you're giving the fathers any responsibilities for the night — to be in charge of holding on to the tip money for vendors or to take home the gifts after the wedding — send them a pre-wedding reminder.
4. When to Give a Toast
Chances are they will be so excited to say a couple of words on your behalf that they may do the toast too early. Perhaps they might even be having so much fun that they may think of the toast too late. So when you've figured out the timeline for the day, be sure to give them a clue on when is a good time to toast so they can get prepared.
5. To Have a Good Time
Weddings can be stressful, even for the dads! So give them a little reminder that everything is taken care of and this is a night for them to have fun and let loose on the dance floor!
