This little bundle of joy is already making waves! Olympic swimmer, Michael Phelps, made the special announcement that he and his fiancé, Nicole Johnson, are expecting their first child over social media Wednesday. Congratulations to these two!
Olympic swimmer, and 22-time medalist, Michael Phelps, shared the exciting expectancy news on Instagram yesterday, alongside his former Miss California fiancé, Nicole Johnson, People reports. The sweet photo shows the adoring couple holding up a baby speedo (familiarly labeled MP) in front of something all too familiar to Phelps — a swimming pool! Johnson also shared the news on her personal Instagram account, revealing more than just a look into the newborn's Olympic future. "Today marks 12 weeks and 5 days of us having a little one and yesterday we learned we're having a BOY!" Johnson added. "We couldn't be happier!"
The expectant parents seem to be fans of sharing their milestone moments on social media. The couple announced their engagement back in February, posting an elated wintery Instagram photo of the two of them romantically rolling in the snow. Phelps captioned the momentous occasion, "She sad yes," following the couple's rekindled romance after splitting in 2011, and having dated on and off since 2007.
Phelps isn't the only Olympian rejoicing in the news of a recent engagement. Olympic gold medal gymnast, Shawn Johnson, scored a home run during a Cubs vs. Phillies game at Wrigley Field in July when her boyfriend, Andrew East, threw a curve ball by popping the question in front of the entire crowd back! Johnson expressed her surprise and excitement on Instagram with a video of the bended knee moment and the caption, "Well I know it's not a secret...But I experienced the greatest surprise a girl could ever ask for today...The love of my life @andreweast asked to be his forever AND I SAID YES!!!!!"

Fellow Olympic gold medal gymnast Nastia Liukin, revealed her June engagement to boyfriend, VentureUP founder, Matt Lombardi, with a stunning close-up shot of her huge cushion-cut diamond ring on Instagram. The photo, simply captioned, "So this just happened...@matt_lombardi," shows a magnified view of the double-pavé halo diamond ring, resting on a gorgeous thick, layered, diamond band.
Congrats to these happy Olympians!
