Okay, you've picked the date for you big day, now you just have to alert friends and family! "I always tell people that one of the first things they should do is find the right person to do their paper goods," says Erica Tighe, calligrapher and designer of Be a Heart. "If you want save-the-date cards, it's not unusual to start planning invites a year before the wedding." With that in mind, here's our list of favorite SoCal invite experts.

If you want your invites to look exactly like the beautiful ones from Pinterest with hand-done loopy calligraphy script, then check out Erica Tighe and her ink skills. On top of her perfect penmanship, this artist can also create a custom watercolor background for your invite (she gets it digitized for multiple printing, but the quality is fantastic) so it's easy for all your paper goods (from invites to menus) to be in your color-of-choice for your big day.

These self-described "connoisseurs of correspondence" and best friends, Chelsea Shukov and Jamie Grobecker, started this sweet stationery company back in 2003. Their designs always give a nod to the traditional, often using chic tones of grey, pink or green with touches of gold foil. These ladies also sell their own designs in wrapping paper and gift tags, which are perfect for bridesmaid tokens or end-of-wedding favors for guests. You can also see their whole line in person at their freestanding store inside of Brentwood Country Mart. Bliss and Bone
Founder Cindy Skanderup started out in NYC working in fashion (with the likes of Tracy Reese and Ralph Lauren) and switched it up with Bliss and Bone when she moved out to Los Angeles. Her designs are clean, modern and often in muted tones with bold but unfussy graphic elements. The website is a breeze to peruse and purchase, so you could be just a click away from letting these guys set the whole graphic tone for your big day. Bonus: You can also order your thank-you cards from here, after all the gifts have been opened!

Just like every bride, Cara Underwood is meticulous about details, her style swings from traditional to modern (think dip-dyed and ombre paper). Not only can this calligrapher and designer create your save-the-dates and invites, she can also have everything mailed out using different collages of color-coordinated vintage stamps; this way even your envelope arrives looking like a piece of art.
