Jason Kennedy Opens Up About His First Year of Marriage with Wife Lauren Scruggs

Jason Kennedy and Lauren Scruggs are about to hit a major marriage milestone! The E! News co-host, who married his model and fashion blogger wife nearly one year ago, is sharing all the doting details — as well as the ups and downs — of newlywed life before his anniversary hits on December 12.

"Everybody talks about the first year and what it was like. It's incredible. Do you fight? Of course you do. Do you get to know each other better? Of course you do," Kennedy told People of his marriage at the Generosity.Org 7th Annual Night of Generosity gala in Los Angeles Friday. "There were so many more ups than downs. Just getting on the same page is fun."

The L.A. couple, who married at the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Dallas last December, plan on celebrating their first anniversary in Big Sur, California. Kennedy joked about a "romantic" early arrival so he could stealthily, "Set up some candles and have E! News playing on repeat!"

Kennedy, 33, also dished that his 27-year-old wife has been adapting well to Los Angeles — Scruggs, a Texas native, bought a one-way plane ticket to L.A. to start her west coast life with Kennedy when they married. "It's a big deal when someone new comes into your life and moves and leaves her friends and family in Dallas, but we've been connecting," Kennedy said, adding that he and his wife "have a great community of friends out here. We have a good church. She's really been adapting well to L.A. I'm super proud of her."

The doting newlyweds, who initially connected over their importance of faith, plan on waiting, "another couple of years," before they, "start trying to have some little rugrats," Kennedy explained. "We have a lot of friends that have a lot of kids. They can't really go out and do a lot of things. So, we wanted to get that out of the way."

Sounds like these two are happy to simply bask in newlywed bliss for the time being! "I like being married. I like coming home to somebody at the house. I wish everybody could experience that," Kennedy said. "I hope they do in their life because it's the best feeling, honestly."
