After accepting to be a bridesmaid — whether it's your first time or third time — you may find yourself scrambling to remember what to do next. You may be waking up at 4 a.m. the month before the wedding — wondering if you forgot to do something — and now the bride is never going to speak to you again. I doubt that this is going to happen, but to help calm your nerves a bit, here's a list of 5 things all bridesmaids will have to do, along with when you should do them.

1. Say Yes to Be a Bridesmaid
Don't forget to do this! After the bride asks you, be sure to give her your answer within 48 hours.

2. Buy Your Dress
Try not to get lazy with this. Order your dress as soon as the bride gives you the OK, on what dress she'd like you to wear. If you wait too late, you may be overwhelmed with the stress of trying to find a way of getting the dress ordered and shipped to you before you walk down the aisle.

3. Book Your Wedding Travel
Once you get the dates and locations of the bridal shower, bachelorette party and wedding — book your travel ASAP. You'll save money this way and you'll be able to ease the bride's nerves by telling her that you are 100% coming to the wedding events.

4. RSVP to the Wedding
When the wedding invitation comes in the mail, you may feel like you don't have to RSVP because you're a bridesmaid — and you think the bride knows you're coming — but you do! Send the card back, within 48 hours of receiving it.

5. Buy Your Gifts
Scope out the bride's registry, plan, and buy the gifts you'd like to give beforehand. That way, you're not scrambling the day before the bridal shower, noticing that everything on the registry has been bought already.
