Let's be real, going to a wedding solo or even with someone you're seriously dating is a completely different experience than going as a bride-to-be. It's like you have this unspoken connection with the couple, and you see and feel things the former (un-engaged) you didn't know you could see or feel, like the sweat, blood and tears that went into planning this party for a year plus! Your thought process probably looks a little something like this.
1. "Oh, that's a good idea! Maybe we should do that?"
Your BFF's big day is like a big Pinterest board come to life, except you can't actually pin the ideas you like, you just have to mentally store them in your head for later. But it's even better because then you get to see what works well in person and what only works on the Internet.
2. "So glad we decided not to do that at our wedding."
Attending another wedding when you're officially engaged is kind of like being transformed into a contestant on TLC's Four Weddings. You get all judgy and start silently critiquing every single detail, details that you'd probably never have noticed before he put a ring on it. Seriously, you can't help yourself.
3. "OMG, I can't believe we're next!"
There's nothing like watching someone else say, "I do" to get you in the marrying mood. It makes the fact that your wedding is right around the corner seem that much more real, and that, in itself, is so exciting!
4. "I wonder if I'll cry? Sh*t. I better not cry. Will he cry? That would be sooo sweet."
Ah, the great cry debate. It's all you can do to hold back the tears at your fiancé's friend's wedding (who you barely know BTW, but the whole thing is just so beautiful), so naturally thoughts of bawling like a baby during your own ceremony begin to creep into your mind. Then you wonder if your guy will cry because emotional grooms are like, the cutest thing ever. Aww!
5. "I hope the [fill in the blank] is this good at our wedding!"
Food. Music. Cocktails. Speeches. Whatever it may be, your wedding officially has something to live up to now, perhaps something that wasn't even on your radar before.
6. "Ugh! Why didn't I think of that?"
Some wedding ideas are so genius (i.e. creative) you kick yourself for not thinking of them first. These are always the ideas that would be super awk to steal since half the guests will be attending your wedding too. Crap...
