You can always spot the wedding guests who weren't aware of your nuptials' dress code — despite the several reminders on your save the date, invitation, RSVP card, welcome bag note... — by their sundresses and flip-flops in your swanky hotel ballroom. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux ran into a similar dress code problem during their ultra-secret wedding ceremony this past summer, Theroux shared during his Wednesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he finally divulged some of those wedding details we've been dying for!
"Well it was actually a massive miscalculation," said Theroux, according to E! Online. Turns at that having a surprise wedding masquerading as a backyard birthday party has its drawbacks, mainly that you're taking the chance of your wedding guests showing up in attire more suited to a casual barbecue than a black-tie ceremony! "There were people there who were just in jeans," Theroux laughed. "We [were] gonna tell some people this and some people that... So then afterwards we kind of realized that was a terrible plan," he said, noting that out-of-the-loop guests were easy to spot by their flip-flops!
Despite the hodgepodge attire of their guests, Theroux couldn't help but gush over married life with Aniston, mainly how he can't get enough of saying one little four-letter word — wife. "The first couple days of doing it, it's a great feeling. 'Fiancée=' sounds cute at first, then you go eh. But then you get to say 'my wife.'"
Ugh, we're flipping over these adorable deets of newlywed bliss! Now if we can just get a pic of that dress...
