Cosmopolitan Houston is one of the largest cities in the country, but part of its appeal is its proximity to glorious green acreage and meadows meant for exchanging "I dos" among the wildflowers (in certain seasons!), under the stars, or inside a grand ranch. One of these six picturesque venues could deliver your down-home dream wedding.

Pecan Springs (Above)
Tie the knot amid a canopy of pecan trees on 20 lush acres at Pecan Springs Events, then celebrate with up to 320 guests inside the 9,000-square-foot reception hall. Expect high, open-beam ceiling trusses, stone walls and wooden floors, complete with dance space, a stage area, a full A/V system and plenty of atmosphere. Located about 35 miles west of downtown — just past Katyin Brookshire — the venue also has a pond, a 40-foot bridge and gazebos. Couples get a full 16-hour rental and they can select their own vendors. Read real brides' reviews here!

Amber Springs
A sister property of Pecan Springs, Amber Springs is situated on 10 acres in Montgomery — about one hour north of Houston. Choose from two venues at the woodsy location: the castle-like Stonebrook Hall, made from authentic limestone walls, and aromatic Pine Hall, which has a solid pine hardwood interior. Stonebrook Hall has a dramatic stone staircase, wrought-iron doors, wooden rafters and pillars, and polished dark-stained solid wood floors. It also has a romantic glow, thanks to sconce lighting. Pine Hall features a grand staircase, wrap-around porch, polished hardwood floors, and Western décor — not to mention the "fragrance of the forest." Both 9,000-square-feet halls will accommodate up to 320 guests and are surrounded by beautiful landscaping, including a signature wooden bridge, a sparkling stream, gardens and winding stone paths. There's also a wooden gazebo for outdoor ceremonies. Read real brides' reviews here!

Oak Tree Manor
Oak Tree Manor in Spring is a tranquil bed and breakfast surrounded by sprawling, century-old oak trees, and many couples have exchanged vows under the shade of a grand, 200-year-old oak. (Locals say the mature tree will bring lifelong love and happiness to these marriages.) Built by German immigrants in 1876, the appropriately named property personifies southern charm. It has been updated with a gazebo, swimming pool, patio and outdoor grill. But the pièce de résistance is the newly opened Oak Tree Reception Hall, which has high ceilings with chandeliers, polished concrete floors, a dramatic, swirling staircase and a room for the bride. It will accommodate up to 200 guests. Oak Tree Manor only books one wedding at a time, so couples can mix it up with an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception or hold both indoors.
