Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, the talented power-duo behind Marchesa, have accomplished a lot in their careers: They've become a red-carpet signature, create couture-like bridal gowns, and have tabletop, fine jewelry, handbags, and even fragrance lines, plus a slew of other exciting partnerships (like their recent one with the St. Regis hotels). So it's only natural that these luxury pros take a foray into footwear, first debuting a ready-to-wear line of shoes during their Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week show, and now, getting ready to premiere an exciting bridal line at their upcoming Fall 2016 bridal presentation tomorrow!

Chapman and Craig teamed up with AKH group to create a collection of wedding shoes that, as you can imagine, are just as glamorous, romantic, and detailed as their stunning bridal gowns. "We've always envisioned Marchesa as a lifestyle brand and including a full shoe collection is an important part of that vision," Chapman explained. "Customers and retailers alike have requested we expand into footwear so it's incredibly exciting to have found a partner who can help us fulfill that goal."

As for their inspiration, they drew from their upcoming wedding-dress collection."The shoe collection ties back to our seasonal inspiration for the bridal gowns," Chapman explained. "For Fall/Winter 2016 we inspired by a feeling of lightness with cutaway detailing and sheer embroidered lace. For this inaugural collection of bridal shoes we are focusing on a white and ivory color palette rendered in supple suedes and laces."

The decadent details surely aren't lacking. "For the footwear collection this is represented in swirling laser cut patterns, 3D leather florals and ballet inspired grosgrain ribbon ties," Craig added.

The design process really was a 360 approach, and a natural extension of their already well-established and beloved aesthetic. "The Marchesa woman is always at the core of our design process, so instead of focusing on what was different about creating shoes, Georgina and I thought about the design elements that draw women to Marchesa and how we could embody that spirit for this new collection," Craig said.
