3 Cheesy Romantic Gestures Grooms Secretly Love

Weddings are inherently romantic: Planning to tie the knot to the man or woman you love brings out the mushy-gushy in even the staunchest people, including your groom. So while he may not be willing to admit it himself, here are three romantic gestures, as confessed by real grooms, that truly touch his heart as you plan your wedding.

Hearing your mushy-gushy thoughts.
"My wife kept a journal during our wedding planning process," says one groom. "In it, she recorded all the things she was excited about and how it related to the planning. For example, when she went for her final dress fitting, she wrote down that slipping on her dress made her wonder what I'd think of it the first time I saw it, and how excited she was for our first look. She gave me the journal on our wedding day as part of her wedding gift to me."

Engraving his ring with a heartfelt message.
"When we went to pick up our wedding bands from the jeweler, I was surprised to find my wife had engraved my band," says another newlywed man. "She'd engraved it with our nicknames for each other, which I think personally is more fun than going with a standard wedding date engraving. Now, if I ever look at the inside of my ring, I immediately smile."

Keeping a countdown.
"In the last weeks leading up to our wedding, my wife started a countdown," says another groom. "She'd shoot me a text or leave a note on the dresser with how many days were left, as well as a little love note about how excited she was and why. The countdown got me really excited for our wedding, too, and her notes made me feel pretty lucky to have her."
