The perfect mother-in-law may not exist, but a girl can dream! You won't find this in any medical textbooks...

As soon as you announce your engagement, she offers financial help.
Rather than waiting for you and your fiancé to broach the subject, which can be so uncomfortable many couples put it off for as long as possible, she invites you two over and makes a monetary pledge. Whether modest or generous, the money is clearly given with love, and that makes you an instant fan of hers.

When you're discussing wedding planning, she never rolls her eyes.
Maybe she hates the idea of a naked wedding cake or bridesmaids wearing black. But she'll never let on to you. She's sincerely supportive of your decisions because she realizes it's your wedding, not hers.

She asks if she can help, then follows through.
Don't you hate when someone insists on taking care of some important detail to ease your burden then ends up causing you more stress when they flake? Not your FMIL. If she says she's ordering 100 of your preferred wedding-themed stamps from the post office and she'll have them to you by Wednesday, she keeps her word. It's such a relief to know she's someone you can count on.

She's nice to your mom.
Though she was anxious to go dress shopping, she waited without complaining for your mom to get her dress first, so their outfits didn't clash. She even invited her to drinks after work!

She doesn't insist all of her Zumba buddies get invited to the wedding.
She understands space and funds are limited and doesn't push her people on you.

When you ask for photos for the rehearsal-dinner slideshow, she doesn't give you any that include his exes.
All those other women are in his past. She makes it clear that you are her son's future and that's all that matters.
