He loves me...he loves me not? You've talked about getting engaged before, and even though you know it'll happen at some point, right now it's literally torture playing the waiting game. It's like come on, dude; pop the question already. You both want the same things, but sometimes men need a little more time to wrap their heads around the whole idea of marriage (that, and to find the right ring or have it made!). In the meantime, you can take solace in the fact that you're certainly not the only one going through this. Here are eight thoughts that cross every girl's mind when waiting for a proposal.
1. Hmm, I wonder if he'll ask me in [insert upcoming vacation destination here].
Beautiful location, beautiful girl, plus all your family will be there. I mean, why wouldn't he be cooking up the dream proposal? You don't want to get your hopes up in case it doesn't happen. Then again, it really is the perfect opportunity...
2. Okay, if he doesn't propose by [insert deadline here] I'm so done!
Whether you've been patiently waiting for two weeks or two years, it feels like time goes by as slow as molasses once you've actually had "the talk". You know, the one where you both agree your relationship is headed in that direction and discuss what kind of rings you like and how cute your future kids will be and what not.
3. Seriously cannot wait to be a wifey, ahhh!
The mere thought of finally being able to call him your fiancé gets you all giddy inside like a little schoolgirl. You're scribbling hearts and flowers and practicing his last name with your first one. A proposal is so close you can almost taste it!
4. I hope I like the ring. OMG, what if I don't like the ring?
It's every almost-engaged-girl's biggest fear (okay, maybe not biggest, but it's definitely up there). After all, you do have to wear it forever, and it'd be so awkward to have to tell him it's not your style. Hmm, maybe you should start dropping a few not so subtle hints?
5. Ugh, I swear if I see another engagement announcement on Facebook I'm gonna puke.
As if waiting on him to pop the question isn't tough enough, it seems like every time you check social media someone else is getting engaged. Way to rub it in, friends!
6. Is it too soon to create a wedding Pinterest board? Ooo, I'll just keep it a secret.
Thank goodness for privacy settings, right? You can get a jumpstart on wedding planning without looking like the crazy girl who doesn't even have a ring yet. Obviously it won't be long so bring on the inspiration, Internet!
